Have you ever had a dental crown before? (Some people call them “caps”.) Making a crown for a patient used to take two visits in two weeks. After the tooth was prepared for a crown, an impression was taken and sent to a lab for crown fabrication. During that fabrication time, the patient would wear a temporary crown and return for the second visit to have the completed lab crown cemented in. We used to do crowns this way, but not anymore! Since 2008, we’ve had the CEREC technology to make our crowns in our office in one visit. Dr. Fryer has really embraced this system for its efficiency and patient comfort. Because the crown is made in our office in one visit, the patient does not have to have multiple impressions taken, does not have to wear an unreliable temporary crown for two weeks, and does not have to return for a second visit.
Keeping our philosophy of efficiency and comfort in mind, we utilize digital x-rays. Digital x-rays require less radiation than traditional x-rays and processing the image is almost immediate.
We love using MacPractice for our practice management software. MacPractice has allowed us to easily organize all of our patient info, reports, and schedules in one place. Each patient room has a computer with MacPractice loaded so that we can manage our entire system from anywhere in the office. No longer are we tied to one computer at the front desk!

We are also very active on social media, with digital newsletters, blogs, our website, and email. Did you know that EVERY Facebook post, newsletter, blog, and email reply comes DIRECTLY from us. Many offices hire outside companies to post for them, to create newsletters, or to send out their email. We don’t do that! Every Facebook post, every newsletter, and every blog (including this one!) is written by Dr. Fryer or Missy. Every single email sent to you comes from Dr. Fryer, Missy, or Kristin. We truly believe in being easily accessible to our patients whenever they may need us. It’s really important to us. Really important.
When we think back to how our practice looked 20 years ago, and how it looks now, we are really proud of the advancements we’ve made for our patients. Many offices choose not to change, but not us. We promise you that we will continue this trend for the next 20 years.
