We had another in-service meeting the other day and this time it was about digital photography. Digital photos are a GREAT way to show patients the inside of their mouths. It’s so much easier for patients to understand their dental needs or potential cosmetic changes (like veneers or orthodontics) when they can see a photo. Being able to show patients their before and after images is pretty powerful, too. Have we taken digital photos on you? If not, feel free to request them at your next appointment!
We listened to a great podcast about the importance of presenting patients with their digital images. Up until this point, Dr. Fryer was usually the one to take the pictures.
We decided that it was time to teach everyone else the rules of photography and what constitutes a great dental image so that the other team members could take good photos as well.
I reminded them that the end result should be photos that I can use on our website and for marketing purposes.
After reviewing all of that, we moved into the operatory and practiced taking photos. We’re going to keep practicing until everyone can confidently take the photos. The more we know as a team, the better we are for our patients!
